We do qualifying dives at Miracle Waters (inland) and at Sodwana Bay (coastal). Both Venues have extra costs which is NOT part of your qualifying fees. Please ensure you are aware of these.
Miracle waters is approximately 45 minutes drive from Pretoria and is a flooded quarry. It has different levels and although a little cloudy at times, a good training ground for beginner divers and various specialities like altitude, navigation and deep to name a few.
Miracle Waters is at altitude and you need to be very aware of the special procedures to follow when diving at altitude! People have bent there!
It has a little shop for cool drinks, sweets and some food as well as clean ablutions, an airfill station and gear rental facilities.
Please note that an entrance fee is charged at Miracle Waters.
Reef Divers does NOT rent out soft gear (wetsuit, mask, fins, weight belt), you need to ensure that you rent your equipment in time for your dives at the facility. A deposit will be required and rentals need to be paid in full by the end of the day.
Divers in training need to be at the site at least an hour before the dive – confirm this time with your instructors!
Reef Divers does have a bus that will run to Miracle on training days - the cost of this bus is R 55.00 per day ( there and back) and is payable in cash on the day of the trip. Please ensure that you are on time for departure.
A weekend would normally start on Saturday morning at the shop from where we leave for Miracle. - 2 or 3 dives will be done depending on group sizes and how willing and able you are!!

Sodwana Bay is in Northern Zululand and is approximately 7 -8 hours drive from Pretoria. It is one of the ten best diving destinations worldwide and is a Marine Park. It has a massive reef system consisting of the world famous 2 mile reef as well as the pristine 7 mile (advanced divers only)
Sodwana bay offers lots off different accommodation, offers ranging from camping in your own tent to luxury accommodation in your own 6 -8 sleeper house. You need to tell us what your requirements are. Most divers opt for the middle of the range accommodation, two sleeper huts, basic and clean.
Soddies has a small shop on the beach that does a mean bunny chow and some cold cool drinks- it also has a diveshop where you can hire soft gear if you have not purchased any yet – please remember that we do NOT rent out ANY soft gear!
The “normal” Sodwana weekend is a 3night /5 dive affair – we leave Pretoria on Thursday, dive Friday morning – 2 dives – 2 again on Saturday and then 1 on Sunday after which we drive home .Resting is done on Mondays!
The bus will leave on Thursday at 12H00 and will cost R 550.00 per person there and back.
There is a gate fee of R 20.00 per day payable as you enter the resort .
Please make sure you are aware of extra costs on any of these trips! The staff will help where they can but do forget thing sometimes! Please Ask!!
