What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If your child is between 10 and 14 years old then there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available

How does the course work?
You will need two weekends (four days in total) to complete this course. The first weekend will be at our Dive Shop in Pretoria with our on - site heated pool. The second weekend will be at Miracle waters (in Brits) or Sodwana Bay or Aliwal Shoal or Mozambique for your qualifying dives.
The course consists of three parts:
The first part is a self study session with your PADI Open Water manual and DVD, which you will get in your Padi open water Ultimate Crew pack. This crew pack also contains your own logbook to record your training dives and future fun dives for after your qualification, as well as a multi-level electronic dive planner ( e-RDPml) code and a Dive computer simulator access card.
Once you are done with your homework, you are now ready for the second part of this course, which is the pool training dives! This is the part where you physically learn how to dive. Once you are confident you will then move to the third part of the course, where you will do your qualifying dives in your in your destination of choice.
Please note the following:
Medical requirements for this course! The Medical Statement HAS to be completed and signed – any “YES” anywhere on the form requires you to seek a Medical Doctor’s advice and a letter from them stating that you are “medically fit to Scuba Dive” You WILL NOT be allowed to enter the water if this requirement is not met.
You may choose to do your qualifing dives at either Sodwana Bay, Aliwal shoal or Mozambique, these costs will vary as the dives and accommodation packages differ. (Contact us to see what specials we have running or what International trips are planned for the time you would like to qualify.)
For the pool dives we will supply you with Soft gear and Hard gear. For the qualifying ocean or lake dives you will need to have your own soft gear or you can rent it from us, we will provide the hard gear.
Soft gear – Mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, weight belt and weights. For the qualifying dives you will have to have your own soft gear or you can rent it from us.
Hard gear – BCD, Reg and cylinder - However, we do recommend investing in your own soft gear to ensure a comfortable and a better learning experience.)
What will I do?
Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
PLEASE NOTE – We need two days notice should you need to reschdule your training, if not a R400.00 cancelation fee will be charged.
